What is NSF Certified Gluten-Free?

NSF is a third-party certification organization that provides testing, inspection, and certification to verify every FITCRUNCH product that bears the NSF mark is Gluten-Free. The NSF Certified Gluten-Free mark is your assurance that the product has been tested by one of the most respected independent certification organizations in existence today.

What’s the “Contains a Bioengineered Food Ingredient” Statement?

The National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Law, passed by Congress in July of 2016, directed USDA to establish this national mandatory standard for disclosing foods that are or may be bioengineered. Foods that are subject to the labeling requirements under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) are subject to BE Disclosure standards.

What are bioengineered foods?

A food that is made from bioengineered foods or contains ingredients for which source materials are bioengineered foods. For example, ingredients made from corn, soy, potato and canola may be bioengineered foods. See the list of BE foods here https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regulations/be/bioengineered-foods-list

For more information, please go to https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regulations/be

Food products that can not verify that all ingredients are non-GMO, shall display the statement “Contains a Bioengineered Food Ingredient” even if the product does not have any ingredients declared as bioengineered.

The palm oil in FITCRUNCH products is generally understood to be sourced from non-GMO palm trees; however, palm oil plantations do not “certify” with any world auditing organizations that the trees are non-GMO and our supplier does not segregate (Identity Preserve) palm oil during our processing steps in a way that would guarantee the absence of soybean, cottonseed or corn oils, which are predominantly sourced from genetically modified seeds. Therefore, our palm oil-based products are sourced from non-GMO plants, but are not able to be certified as such.

Is the Palm Oil in Your Products Sourced Sustainably?

Yes. Below is a list of commitments and practices from our palm oil supplier. For documentation, please contact Customer Service.
