2022 CRUNCH FOR A VET CHALLENGE

HELPING VETERANS ONE CRUNCH AT A TIME! 

The 3rd Annual 2022 Crunch for a Vet Challenge has a goal of raising $15,000 for the Robert Irvine Foundation where the funds will go towards the purchase of a powered wheelchair for a severely wounded veteran. The challenge, created by FITCRUNCH, calls on people to post videos online performing abdominal crunches. For every crunch recorded, FITCRUNCH will donate $1 to the Robert Irvine Foundation up to $15,000.

After the goal is reached, a veteran will be selected and presented with the powered wheelchair ceremoniously at a TBD date in 2022.

  • Challenge Duration: March 1, 2022 – June 30, 2022
  • Wheelchair Presentation Ceremony: TBD, Usually on or around Veteran’s Day
  • Goal: 15,000 crunches for $15,000 donation

2nd Annual Crunch for a Vet Challenge: Helping Veterans one crunch at a time!

Westbury, NY, November 4, 2021– Chef Robert Irvine’s FITCRUNCH® along with the Robert Irvine Foundation celebrated their 2nd Annual Crunch for a Vet ceremony where they presented a custom pink camo Freedom Mobility 6×6 all-terrain power wheelchair to Long Island veteran, Erin Holmes. This power wheelchair will allow U.S. Army Specialist, Erin Holmes, to have more mobility and independence as well as keep up with her growing family. Erin comes from a military family and is now a mom to a 3-year-old daughter and has a son on the way. She served in Iraq from 2003 – 2014 as an Army truck driver for 11 years, leaving her body with major wear and tear. Erin had TBI, PTSD, and experienced a severe injury. Erin said that this power wheelchair is going to change her entire life.

The Crunch for a Vet Challenge made this all possible with the help of FITCRUNCH® through the sweat of friends and fans of Robert Irvine. The social media challenge really caught fire and raised $15,000 for the Robert Irvine Foundation. People were asked to post a video online performing abdominal crunches. For every crunch performed, FITCRUNCH® donated $1 to the Robert Irvine Foundation. This year, the $15,000 raised went towards the power wheelchair that was presented to veteran, Erin Holmes.

Look for the specially marked FITCRUNCH #CrunchForAVet display at your local Walmart store. In 2021, FITCRUNCH is donating $50,000 to the Robert Irvine Foundation regardless of sales.

Independence of Mobility for a Veteran Leading up to Independence Day

July 1, 2020 Melville, NY – Robert Irvine Foundation and FITCRUNCH provided a Freedom Mobility 6×6 all-terrain power wheelchair to Long Island veteran. This power wheelchair will allow Iraq War Veteran, U.S. Army Corporal Chris Levi the ability to partake in outdoors activities such as going to the beach, hiking, fishing, archery, among other hobbies of his, that he has been unable to partake in since injured in the line of duty in Iraq in 2008 when his Humvee was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) with the blast cutting through both of his legs at mid-thigh, leaving him a bilateral amputee along with damage to his right hand and arm.

Chris Levi and his fiancé, Jenn Ryan, both Long Island residents are active in their local community and Chris will be donating his current track-chair to Skudin Surf, a surf school for disabled children in Long Beach, NY.
